Thank you to all who participated in the West Texas Area Contest. It was a great success, and we appreciate the strong support from the West Texas mariachi community.
As West Texas served as a pilot for returning to in-person area contests, programs may now complete the area process in person or virtually.
In-person participation will now be available at the Central or South area locations. To support this option, the High School virtual area deadline has been extended to February 7th. Programs choosing the virtual option will receive submission instructions in January.
A virtual meeting will be scheduled with North and East area programs to discuss in-person participation options for the 2026–2027 season. For the current year, because those area contests occur after the virtual submission deadline, schools may participate in person at the Central or South area contests. Alternatively, groups may choose to enter their area contest virtually if that option is more convenient.
The updated area deadlines flyer is attached and posted on our website and Facebook page.
Thank you for your continued support of mariachi education.
Sincerely,
Texas Association of Mariachi Educators Board (TAME)
